Recently, an eclectic group of industry leaders united to produce a four-day employee incentive program designed to recognize and reward attendees for their achievements. The program was held at the JW Marriott Desert Ridge Resort & Spa in Phoenix. The meeting’s theme and content “elements of success” were blended into the elements of fire, water, earth and sky.

The elements were illustrated through the creation of a dynamic set design, and video production that featured screen blending and media server technology. With the weaving of technology and mission-supportive visuals throughout the program, attendees were acknowledged with unique and memorable experiences.

To demonstrate the element of fire, six screens displayed blazing images that surrounded and emphasized a dance performance by a group of Native American Indians. Coupled with lighting design and sound, it resulted in an effect that dominated the ballroom and turned the performance into an interactive experience for the audience.

  1. Staging Optics of Troy, Mich., provided creative direction and developed a room environment specifically designed to showcase the video production and six-projector screen-blending system. The set was manufactured out of translucent polycarbonate and semireflective soft goods that served as a palette for 63 moving lights. As a result, the set creatively became an extension of the media sever.

  2. The magic behind the program’s theme, content and info-tainment was expertly crafted by FishEye Media of Alpharetta, Ga., to integrate with the technology surrounding the room.

  3. Technical direction, provided by Corporate Optics of Michigan, included the implementation of a six-projector system with two media servers and the use of screen-blending technology. Two primary computers controlled the six additional computers that played the media on each corresponding screen. The outcome was all six of the screens melding into one seamless, continuous vision.

  4. The conference opened with a multimedia explosion of sight and sound with performances by a Native American tribe representing fire, water, earth and sky.

  5. Corporate Optics again supplied the lighting design that orchestrated the 63-unit intelligent lighting design package that worked in conjunction with the Staging Optics lighting palette environment.
