The Consumer Electronics Association selected mBLAST’s Awards Management Solution to manage its Innovations 2008 Design and Engineering awards for next year’s International CES show in Las Vegas. MC2 announced that it has launched a next-generation website. Juno Lighting Group will now be represented in Oregon, eastern Washington, Idaho and Montana by Cascade Lighting Representatives. Professional Exhibits & Graphics, a trade show exhibit company, and DeCarolis Design & Marketing, a full-service creative agency, formed a strategic partnership to offer clients a comprehensive design capability to meet trade show marketing goals. The Virginia Beach Convention and Visitors Bureau announced that the Virginia Beach Convention Center is now participating in Virginia Green, a new campaign promoting environmentally friendly practices in all aspects of the Virginia tourism and hospitality industry. George Vizer, general manager of Hyatt Regency in Chicago, Ill., will spearhead the hotel’s efforts to go green with an extensive recycling program and energy conservation. Evolis was recognized by the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation as a 2007 National Corporate Donor of Toys for Tots.

Convention & Visitors Bureau hired Kelsey Paul-Petersen as the convention sales project manager. MG Design Associates hired David Pruitt as account executive. Yellow Transportation named Michael Lamoreaux as the senior director of exhibit services. Mary Quinn Ramer joined the Lexington (Ky.) Convention and Visitors Bureau as vice president of tourism marketing. The Orange County (Fla.) Convention Center announced Terry Devitt as the center’s director of event management and exhibitor services. AVW-TELAV Audio Visual Solutions named Pete Sackel general manager of its Orlando branch. TBA Global announced the appointment of Tim McCord as executive vice president and head of its new digital media group. Brian T. Edwards joined Production Resource Group LLC as general manager of the company’s Los Angeles office. Kiawah Island Golf Resort appointed Jami VanSant as its new director of national sales. Adams Magnetic Products Co. named Jessica McCulligh trade show coordinator for the company’s national operations.

Santa Fe was ranked the fourth most popular travel city in the United States in Travel + Leisure magazine’s World’s Best Awards 2007 readers poll. Robb Thornsberry, president of Infinity Events Inc., of Anaheim, Calif., was recognized as 2006-2007 Shining Star of the Year by the Orange County Chapter of Meeting Professionals International. Professional Exhibits & Graphics, The Global Executive and DAV Productions were all listed as some of the country’s fastest-growing private companies in this year’s Inc. 5000 ranking. The San Diego Convention Center Corporation was honored by the City of San Diego with a 2007 Director’s Recycling Award for its efforts to divert waste from landfills and conserve natural resources. The Hilton in the Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Fla., received a green lodging hotel award certificate for its outstanding contributions to preserving the environment and conserving energy in everyday business. Par Avion Meetings and Conventions was named the second fastest growing women-owned business in 2006 on the Los Angeles Business Journal’s annual list of the 100 Largest Women-Owned Businesses.
