Fort Worth, Texas, was named the host city for the Religious Conference Management Association’s annual international meeting in 2010. Baltimore-based travel management services provider Safe Harbors Travel Group Inc. acquired Ministry Travel of Wylie, Texas. Skyline Exhibits chose Atlantic Webworks to redevelop its website. Doral Arrowwood Conference Resort in Rye Brook, N.Y., debuted two new facilities — an executive board room and an executive dining room. Columbus, Ohio-based Mills James Productions expanded the lighting, sound, projection and staging capabilities of its event technologies business unit. Excel Meetings and Events, a San Francisco-based meeting management and event marketing company, was selected by the Economic and Workforce Development Program of the California Community Colleges to provide meeting management and event marketing services for the organization’s annual conference. Rose Brand opened its new 126,000-square-foot corporate headquarters in Secaucus, N.J. The Greater Houston Convention and Visitors Bureau welcomed 24 conventions, trade shows, events and other meetings to Houston this month, bringing an estimated $90.3 million in attendee spending to the city.

Timothy Koeppl, a partner and general counsel with Cyclonix Inc., was awarded the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal. The Corinthia Grand Hotel Royal in Budapest was chosen as Best Luxury — World by TripAdvisor in its 2006 Travelers’ Choice awards. A Colgate team, 3D Exhibits and marketing agency RK Associates won Best of Show for the Colgate exhibit and experience at the 2006 American Dental Association Annual Session and Marketplace Exhibition. Rajiv Jain, president and CEO of exhibit and conference software firm a2z Inc., received the Edge 40! award for 2006 from the Tech Council of Maryland and the Maryland Technology Development Corporation. Global meeting, conference and special event management firm Courtesy Associates was ranked the number one meeting and event planning firm in the Washington, D.C., metropolitan area by the Washington Business Journal. Sam Orlando Sr. became the first caterer to be named Restaurateur of the Year (2006) by the Greater St. Louis Restaurant Association.
