Event Solutions President John Baragona took to the 24-foot deep by 100-foot-wide and 32-foot-high stage, explaining the partnership with catersource. The bold staging concept and advanced technology reflected the spirit and magnitude of this event.Farrington Productions produced a wide variety of entertainment, including “Food Comes to Life” from Farrington’s Copa Cabana production (pictured); Earl Turner; Mosaic; The Farrington Dancers and Alizma.“We wanted to show how the entertainment side can have fun with the food side,” said Blair Farrington. String trio Alizma drew rave reviews from the Opening Session audience as well as from the crowds at the Farrington Group exhibit on the show floor.Featured speaker Colin Cowie presented an array of his stunning designs and productions. His illustrations suggested ideas for themes, décor, cuisine and all the elements necessary for great events.Ever-changing high-definition motion graphics, videos and picture-in-picture projection created the virtual set. Five motorized screens spanned the width of the stage, for a combined 20-foot by 175-foot viewable screen area.Event producer Don Mischer of Don Mischer Productions was inducted into the Event Solutions Event Industry Hall of Fame. The screen graphics were designed and sent to the projectors in high definition, as producer Sheila Stack envisioned.The seamless panache and spontaneity of Glenn Thayer, “The Voice of Your Event,” pulled together all the elements of the Opening Session.Among the illusions performed by Richard Kwesell was his “Grand Toast” to the audience of thousands of event professionals.
