Bouquets of Light

Images

Flowers may be in full bloom this summer, but if you’re looking for something to add a little edge to your orchids, Bubble Miami would like to make a suggestion. Made of anodized aluminum, the company’s new Bubble Torches are wireless LED torches that can be used to illuminate paths outdoors or in your next centerpiece. Lasting approximately 24 hours, the torches come as a set of three lights, each of which comes with four filters that can be used to create a multicolored or monochromatic arrangement. The new torches are available for rental from $10 and for purchase from $65.

You Say you Want a Revolution

It’s time for a revolution in portable dance floors, according to PS Event Furniture/Palmer Snyder. That is, it’s time for the Revolution: a new type of dance floor built with composite polyurethane technology that promises to be lighter, thinner and more durable than “pre-revolutionary” models. With 4-foot by 4-foot panels, Revolution panels cover 78 percent more surface area than the more commonly used 3-foot by 3-footers, meaning faster setup and removal; their composition also means the panels are 50 percent thinner and several pounds lighter. Additionally, their cam-lock fastening system eliminates the risk of panels separating when the crowd gets a little too rambunctious.

Lighting the Night

Is lighting up the night on your event checklist? If so, the AquaGlow Floating Light Garden may help you get through your to-dos. Made of soft vinyl, they light up in water and also work in nonaqueous settings. Available in a variety of designs and five colors — purple, orange, green, yellow and pink — the lights can be used in a bowl of water as a glowing centerpiece, in the spa as an accent light, scattered around for bursts of color or as part of your floral design. Packaged in a three-pack, each Floating Light Garden measures 3.5 inches by 2.25 inches.

A Maze of Stars

Taking your event out of this world just got a little easier — with The StarMaze projector, you can project a universe of stars onto any background, from bars, to screens, to curtains, to walls and beyond. Weighing just under two pounds, this little black box uses laser light to create a nightscape of twinkling stars, while blue LED lights create a nebula behind it, completing the effect. TLC Creative Productions is the exclusive distributor in the entertainment market for the product, which is made by Bliss lights.

From Semis to your Exhibit System?

You may have heard of LEED-certified hotels, but a LEED-certified exhibit system? Eco-Systems, a Grand Rapids, Mich.-based company, has introduced what it’s calling the first green-built portable-modular exhibit system in the exhibit industry developed with environmentally responsible materials benchmarked to the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Green Building Rating System of the United States Green Building Council. Environmentally responsible materials used include aluminum extrusions; bamboo plywood; recycled and recyclable exhibit panels; sorghum board; water-based, low-volatile organic compound (VOC) and VOC-free stains and finishes; and flooring made of recycled commercial vehicle tires, among others.
