Disney Mobile Launch — Bravo!
Hundreds of guests celebrated Disney Mobile’s new family-friendly mobile phone services at an event produced by Long Beach, Calif.-based Bravo Productions in Las Vegas. Held at OPM, the event was decked out in ivory and blue, with matching florals by Anaheim, Calif.-based Visser’s Florists, ivory bichon from BBJ Linen and a signature drink in Disney blue created by the ubiquitous Wolfgang Puck. The highlight of the night was a special performance by “Dancing with the Stars” celebrities Lisa Rinna and Louis van Amstel, who danced to Madonna’s “Material Girl.” R. Scott Huntley coordinated all technical aspects of the event, with A/V and lighting by Neu Visions Design of Las Vegas. RSVP Party Rentals provided rental items.
Safe Horizon, Daring Design
Champions for children took center stage at Safe Horizon’s 11th Annual Champion Awards Luncheon at the 69th Regiment Armory in New York. Still images of children graced the stage, and event designer Matthew David Hopkins of Matthew David Events created arboreal centerpieces out of reconfigured umbrellas and 1,500 paper leaves decorated by NYC youth served by Safe Horizon. The cocktail reception room’s focal point was a 2-foot-diameter sphere with a spiral pattern of orange and white (Safe Horizon’s colors) flowers; in the next room, the tables showed a progression from bright orange tablecloths (from Party Rental Ltd.) with white flowers and accoutrements to white tablecloths with orange accoutrements. Technical Producer Eric Talorico of Syncrospan Inc. executed Hopkins’ lighting design. Barefoot Wine sponsored the champagne and wine; guests dined on Asian fare from Taste Caterers.
A Swanky Industry Event
New York-based Swank Productions Inc. showed off its skills by throwing a party at NYC event venue Harry’s Loft, enticing guests with invitations by Gvolve Inc. Creative Director Charles Hervish and planners Christine Coppinger and Danielle Bobish created intimate nooks within the large loft space by draping fabric to create various lounge areas, according Swank President Maya Kalman. Empire Audio Visual helped set the mood while guests grooved to DJ David Chang’s beats. Broadway Famous Party Rentals provided linens and other rental items; Cort Event Furnishings provided furnishings. Henrietta Flower delivered striking yet simple floral arrangements. Eleni’s Cookies & Make My Cake Bakery provided gift bag items, which surely came in handy as guests made their way home in the wee hours of the night.
A Night in Spanish Harlem
Event planners and media from across the country spent a night in Spanish Harlem at the Mission Bay Conference Center at University of California, San Francisco Showcase, which celebrated its recent IACC certification. The new conference center, operated by Aramark Harrison Lodging, hosted a Spanish acoustic guitarist from Rudolfi Artists and flamenco dancers, and offered cuisine by Executive Chef Audrey McRae. Guests sampled Spanish, Cuban and South American flavors, complemented by white and red sangria and mojitos. Richmond, Calif.-based Hartmann Studios donated linens and furnishings, which were accented by fire-colored exotic, tropical flowers from Natalini Flowers. Guests received wine glasses and other items from JML Promotions.
