A Passionatta Welcome: Idea Factory Opening Night Promises to be Passionate Affair
by Vicki Carson | Published in July 2007 Departments

In just two-and-a-half short months, the 2007 Event Solutions Idea Factory: Events, Education, Expo will land in South Beach. And to kick off the four-day conference held in the country’s sexiest city, a select group of event experts have planned a red-hot opening night party filled with steamy dancers, cool cocktails, sultry singers, exquisite cuisine and décor that will take your breath away.
And that’s before you hit the main room.
A grand collaborate effort, Passionatta, as the event is called, will set the tone for the entire conference and raise the bar for all those that will follow.
Passionatta gives passion a face, a persona. It captures the very essence of sensuality and dares attendees to live it — by indulging every one of their senses.
Passionatta’s team, Executive Producer Mona Meretsky, a certified special events professional, of COMCOR Event and Meeting Production; Creative and Technical Director Mark Baker of Plan A; and Entertainment Director Ruddy Sanchez of New Century Dance Company will transform Mansion — one of South Beach’s hottest night spots — into a two-hour spectacular based around passion.
Setting the scene for lounging, nibbling and mingling is Fé Domenech of The Event Firm, who will transform different areas of the venue into fantasy-worthy environs; John Rossetti of 2taste Catering will combine his theatrical background with a vast knowledge of food to create inspired and artistic fare that will tempt and tantalize even the toughest critics; Active Production and Design will shed light and bring sound to the show, while XL Video will broadcast the festivities on its state-of-the-art, concert-worthy LED panels.
Additionally, companies such as Unique Option, Panache, So Cool Events, Brainchild F/X, Big Events, ASI, ATC, Event Flooring Professionals and others will bring their unique contributions to the mix to enhance this highly charged atmosphere.
The entertainment, led by Sanchez’s New Century Dance Company — a troupe known for its lusty Latin flare — will dish up edgy dance numbers as well as nonstop entertainment, sharing the spotlight with talented performers including Power Infiniti and Ole Ole Productions.
“Passionatta was created to show that there is more to Miami and its Latin flavor then one expects,” says Sanchez. “We chose performances that are powerful and will move guests. Think ‘chameleon’ and prepare to be amazed.”
Baker will apply his creative vision to each segment of the production to ensure that all components work harmoniously.
“Every segment should flawlessly flow into the next, making one unified extravaganza,” he explains. “There are so many people whose efforts have made Passionatta possible and I know I speak for Mona and Ruddy as well as myself when I say, ‘Thank you so much to each and every one involved with helping us bring this brilliant vision to life.’”
And overseeing the entire evening is Meretsky, South Florida’s award-winning event veteran.
“Passionatta has become our passion,” she says. “Our entire team” — which comprises well over a dozen members — “has worked so hard to make this Welcome Reception like none other. We can’t wait to give attendees an experience they won’t soon forget. The collaboration of strong minds and the desire to make the evening unique in every way has certainly jumpstarted my creative juices. I think we’ve come up with many things that will excite even this crowd of seasoned event professionals.”
And so you have it. Passionatta: A life lived without passion is no life at all — and with the amount of firsts this group has come up with for its over-the-top opener, there is no doubt it will be on the lips of those who attend for some time to come.
