Harlequin Marquees invited a glittering list of guests to its spectacular event in celebration of receiving the Event Solutions Spotlight Award that named Carmen Clews International Event Professional of the Year. The event, held at the Ritz-Carlton in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, invited guests to wear white, diamonds and bling. Everything sparkled, from the guests, to the crushed crystals covering the white-carpeted grand entrance, to entertainers glistening with crystals on their skin. The event area featured more intimate lounge areas indoors as well as a canopied lounge on the lawn of the venue. Harlequin displayed the theme of white, diamonds and bling in every aspect of the event, proclaimed “the event of the season” by attendees and media, and immersed its guests in an environment that truly celebrated Harlequin’s success.

  1. Moroccan-style lanterns with glass stones were commissioned by Clews. The lanterns cast patterns of light that were repeated in crystal tattoos adorning the models offering champagne from the living tables.

  2. Harlequin introduced white star cloth, from the U.K., by draping the starry fabric from the ceiling of the tent. The star cloth showcased the patterns from the lanterns rather than overshadowing them.

  3. Global spheres entwined with calla lilies and covered in crystals sparkled at heights on top of the bar.

  4. Harlequin designed and fabricated a centrally located bar, one of a number of focal points that assured gracious, timely service to the guests. Also, champagne was served from several spectacular living tables strategically placed throughout the room.

  5. Moonlights, from Germany, are battery-operated and varied in size from centerpiece-size to those almost large enough to use as seats. Harlequin placed the Moonlights along pathways and around the lawns to create a luminous glow that invited guests to explore the outdoor aspects of the event.
