Demand Grows for Idea Factory’s Educational Offerings

Brenda Glaze, communications specialist with the Alaska Housing Finance Corporation, can go to one conference a year to experience new ideas and keep her skills up to date, so she has to choose carefully. This year, she chose The Idea Factory — and she wasn’t disappointed.
“As a first-time attendee I was really impressed” with the show as a whole, she says. “It actually lived up to the expectations that I had when I saw the information on the conference and decided to attend, so it definitely fulfilled my needs.”
With content ranging from “I’m Too Sexy for my Tent” to “Event Ethics People’s Court” to “How to Stay out of Jail: Events in the Age of Sarbanes-Oxley,” Event Solutions Institute’s educational offerings were once again a resounding success.
Attendees had the opportunity to attain an Association or Corporate Planner Certificate by attending classes in the Association or Corporate Track. Speakers came away with a sense of accomplishment as well, given the high level of energy and enthusiasm their audience brought to the seminars.
“I thought the crowd was great,” says Thompson Training & Keynote Inc. owner Robin Thompson, who spoke on re-energizing meetings in the Association Track. “I was really excited about the number of people that attended and the energy in the room, so it did go really well.”
ESI also partnered with the University of Nevada, Las Vegas to offer attendees classes in event management. Thirty-five people qualified for an Event Management Certificate through this program, according to Gael Hancock, an adjunct professor at UNLV and seminar presenter.
With all the ideas on offer, more than one attendee left the educational sessions with a sense of professional achievement.
“Being in Wausau, Wisconsin, I haven’t run into anyone who does what I do,” says Kristina Barbier, of Wausau Signature Agency, who earned a Corporate Planner Certificate. “To hit one spot, get multiple subjects, get presenters that know their stuff, and then be able to go home and say I did it, was really nice for me.”
And demand for The Idea Factory’s continuing education is only growing — Corporate certificates increased by almost a third and Association certificates increased by approximately 20 percent.
