Spotlight on Sophistication

Your chance to be in the spotlight with Unlimited Sophistication will take place at this year’s Spotlight Awards celebration. Your sophisticated evening will begin as you board a one-of-a-kind coach for the quick two-block trip to the Ellie Caulkins Opera House. Home to the Colorado Opera, the “Ellie” opened last fall after a $92 million renovation transformed it to a state-of-the-art theater for the Denver Performing Arts Complex. This magnificent venue will be just the beginning of a breathtaking evening filled with surprise and elegance. Executive Producer Steve Hand of The HAND Company and his creative team will honor the more than 100 Spotlight finalists, award winners and Hall of Fame inductees. It will be an evening of imagination that unfolds and builds to a celebration of excellence for the event industry.
Several previous Spotlight winners will be joining Hand’s team to create the 10th annual celebration of Spotlight distinction for the industry. Sean DeFreitas of Designs by Sean will serve as creative director. His bold and lyrical style will amuse and astound the audience when they take their seats to discover a journey of entertainment and revelry. Surprise and innovation will be the order of the day when Sheila Stack of Impact Productions creates visual magic throughout the theater.
As guests arrive at 6:15 p.m. on the red carpet for cocktails and hors d’oeuvres, a violin sonata will create soft and expressive music for the ingenious production that is about to evolve. As the evening proceeds, you’ll take your seat in the theater, along with your professional colleagues and friends, for a spectacular evening of boundless energy and endless excitement.
With a record-setting number of finalists and categories, the winners in each category of the Spotlight Awards will be revealed in this fast-paced theatrical production. The consummate professionals who make up this elite group, along with the inductees in the Hall of Fame, will be toasted in a presentation by Matthew Warren of RADAR to celebrate their successful careers and the amazing accomplishments in the event industry.
But wait — the evening has just begun, and the celebration continues as you make your way from the Opera House to the elegant Seawell Ballroom, where Denver’s glittering city lights and majestic mountains create the canvas for Production Designer Brook Nichols to unveil more of the city’s grace and style in the Denver Performing Arts Complex. There you will enjoy savory cuisine from Dougal’s Catering as David McDougal’s culinary expertise delights your palate with a delectable meal to satisfy the body and soul.
Entertainment, dancing and celebration will make for an unequivocally dazzling culmination to the affair, providing the evening’s crescendo as the industry’s who’s who party with energy and enthusiasm on this star-filled occasion.
