Each year, members of the Event Industry Hall of Fame select inductees to join their ranks, and Event Solutions is now proud to announce the 2006 inductees. This August, Jean McFaddin, Frank Supovitz and Paulette Wolf join our illustrious group of Hall of Fame members.

The Hall of Fame Pinnacle Crystal, which symbolizes the achievements of pioneering event professionals who have transformed the event industry and led the way in its growth and creative genius, will be presented to inductees at the 2006 Event Solutions Spotlight Awards.

Help honor them by attending this year’s induction ceremony in Denver on August 23, 2006.

Jean McFaddin

Jean-McFaddinJean McFaddinJean McFaddin is the legendary producer of the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.

For 24 years, McFaddin re-invented this event to become one of the most recognized events in American popular culture.

Trained as a theatrical director and designer, she uses her design sensitivity to create living theater that is annually viewed by hundreds of millions around the world. She has won over a dozen Emmy Awards for this event.
In addition to the parade, as senior vice president of Macy’s events and PR, she introduced the Macy’s July Fourth Spectacular, which was one of the first pyrotechnic events to be choreographed to music using computer technology. She also created the Macy’s Tap Spectacular, which set world records for the most tap dancers in Herald Square.
McFaddin has lectured throughout the world and is beloved as a mentor to young people who aspire to follow her path to success.

Frank Supovitz

Frank SupovitzFrank SupovitzFrank Supovitz began his career in 1973 as an usher at Radio City Music Hall, where he would eventually rise through the ranks to serve as director of special events until 1989. He became senior vice president of events for the National Football League in 2005, where he oversees such events as the Super Bowl, Pro Bowl and the NFL Draft. Along the way, he has written two books for John Wiley & Sons, most recently “The Sports Event Management and Marketing Playbook,” and served as group vice president, events and entertainment, for the National Hockey League for 14 seasons.

Prior to joining the NHL, Supovitz was one of three principals at Eventures, a mega-event production company based in New York. His credits range from major public celebrations such as the bicentennial of the U.S. Constitution and the opening ceremonies of the U.S. Olympic Festival and Goodwill Games to numerous corporate events.

In 2003, he was awarded an honorary doctorate of business administration in sports, entertainment and event management from Johnson & Wales University.

Paulette Wolf

Paulette WolfPaulette WolfPaulette Wolf has been a leader in the event management field for over 30 years. Her extensive expertise in sporting, corporate and philanthropic events is unrivaled. Wolf refined the sporting event corporate experience to its current form, in which one entity governs and brings continuity to the entire hospitality village. Since 2000, she has cultivated a new specialty of high-profile, PR-driven events.

A strong sense of community has guaranteed Wolf’s strong presence in the not-for-profit arena as well. From the Michael Jordan Foundation, to the Elizabeth Taylor AIDS Foundation and Design Industries Foundation Fighting AIDS, to the creation of original fundraising programming such as Equilibrium and H2O, she and her team continue to serve the non-profit sector with original concepts, events and campaigns nationally.

Originally making her mark as a corporate entertainment specialist, Wolf remains one of the nation’s foremost providers of major talent. Her most recent accomplishments include becoming a published author. Her book, “Event Planning Made Easy,” hit shelves in 2005.
