Wilmington, NC is home to the annual Azalea festival, a free downtown trolley and beautiful beaches. Now, it also boasts a new convention center that can host as many as 2,000 people.

Already it has booked more than 75 events, even though its official opening will take place in January. With 107,000 square feet of function space, including a 30,000-square-foot Exhibit Hall and 12,000-square-foot ballroom, it is an ideal venue for smaller tradeshows, conferences and meetings.

The new facility takes full advantage of its maritime heritage, with elements that resemble sails, waves and massive hulls of ships. Historical artwork, spanning a period of more than 100 years, is displayed throughout the building and captures Wilmington as a working industrial city and an important military port.

Additional features include a full-service banquet kitchen and catering service, a 578-space parking deck, loading docks, a ramp with Exhibit Hall access, 30-foot ceilings and unique lighting systems. The area is home to nearly 8,000 hotel rooms.

The building, which is the largest convention center on the North Carolina coast, incorporates green elements designed towards LEED certification. For more information on this new facility go to businessmadecasual.com.
