The National Association of Catering Executives has changed its name to the National Association for Catering and Events, citing an industry trend that requires that catering and event professionals must be trained and knowledgeable in all aspects of event planning, design and production. “We have members who are caterers, event planners and event professionals,” said Bonnie Fedchock, CAE and NACE’e executive director. “We need to better communicate to everyone in our industry that we provide education, networking, a professional certification and many resources not just to caterers but also to the many different kinds of talented professionals who create fantastic events.” ……The Wedding and Event Institute, an industry-recognized international online training institute, has announced a new 10-part online course featuring acclaimed wedding and event designer Sasha Souza starting this October. Signature Sasha: A Certified Wedding Designer Master Course, is designed for professionals who have two years of experience and are ready to take their business to the next level…..The International Special Events Society (ISES) recently announced a strategic partnership with the Event Leadership Institute (ELI) to collaborate in the development of educational content. ELI’s online classes will be the first to receive the new “ISES Approved” designation, a review process ISES will be using to determine which educational offerings meet with the organization’s new professional development standards.
