Imagine being able to surround your guests with soft, luminous lighting effects without all the fuss of projectors and screens. That’s what’s coming down the road because of a partnership between Dutch Royal Philips Electronics and Danish Kvadrat Soft Cells.
They’re creating LED-embedded wall panels that not only emit light, but absorb sound. The panels will be constructed from fabric stretched over an aluminum frame. These “luminous textiles” will emit soft, diffused lighting that will create an almost “dreamlike” quality. Users will be able to choose from standard products or create their own look.
