Fall Color Trends: Sensible and Spirited
Pantone’s color palette for the coming fall season is a mix of bright colors with simple neutrals. Pairings include warm prints with cool metals and a mix of old and new influences, creating an intriguing balance between colors, according to Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute.
Fashion designers, who set the trends for much of the events industry, are taking a painter’s approach, Eismann says. “Much like a painter’s masterpiece, there is a certain romance to this season’s palette.”
Bamboo, a surprising fall hue, brings a warm, exotic flavor to the season. Radiant Emberglow, a traditional autumnal tone, emanates the warmth of a glowing fire. Offering a sense of continuity from Spring, playful Honeysuckle adds a bold punctuation point. Phlox, a deep purple with a hint of mystery, makes an outstanding statement and can stand on its own. Evoking the freshness of a cool mist in a deep forest, Cedar is a versatile mid-tone neutral green. Pair it with Deep Teal, a strong, blue-toned green.
