Eddie Diaz, president and owner of Encore Creations listened attentively to the goals and needs of the client in creating this vibrant casino event. The theme of the event reflected the concepts of money and risk taking that are part of the financial firm’s world. Clients and top representatives filled the guest list.

The end client’s major goal was to provide a fun event that would encourage interaction and networking with the attendees. What better way than to get the guests relaxing in Florida and cheering each other on around gaming tables? Another element was consideration of the budgetary restraints of the current economy. While staying within the budget, Diaz made sure that this format optimized the opportunities to attract new clientele and retain the current customers. A casino party generates its own excitement along with a “money attitude” consistent with the theme of an event hosted by a financial institution.

The guests were greeted by glamorous show girls and escorted along the red carpet to the living table. The novelty of the show girl surrounded by her gown is not only an ice breaker, but sets the tone of fun and warm hospitality for the evening. Lighting throughout the event added to the ambiance. With a few washes and uplights, Pro Audio Visual’s effects kept the room “moving” and alive. Another unexpected touch was the black feather centerpieces. While the feathers are consistent with Las Vegas cache…black is a surprising choice of color. Diaz suggests, “Be flexible. Vendors may have extra products that they are willing to rent for a price more within your budget. See if you can negotiate a compromise. My vendor had a large number of black feathers, so there was the opportunity to reach a better price for us and display this product in a most positive environment.”

Photo 2: The Luxor
Diaz collaborated with Puff ‘n Stuff Catering to design food stations themed to legendary Las Vegas hotels. A perfect example of combining elements of an event to accomplish a number of goals is this display representing the Luxor Hotel and resort. The food stations offered a tempting selection of appetizers and heavy hors d’ouerves, provided décor and enhanced the casino theme. The food stations also encouraged the guests to mingle and visit as they followed the flow of the event and the gaming tables.

Photo 3: Cher
Guests were entertained by “Cher,” “Marilyn Monroe,” and other celebrities famous for their presence in Las Vegas. Diaz reminds us, “Event Professionals have seen just about everything. The client and guests often have not seen as many events, so present them with something unique to them (the guests) and unique to the event.”

Celebrity impersonators bring a great enthusiasm and energy to an event. Guests get a big kick out of being photographed with the “Celeb” and being part of the fun of mingling with these trained performers.
