For the launch of Sprint’s new Kyocera Echo dual screen Android phone, event producer Fresh Wata decided to go double—big time. From the furniture to the picture frames, the theme of duality was incorporated into many of the event’s elements.

The February launch took place at the Edison Ballroom in New York City, a historic venue that, in its theatre days, was the site where Oh! Calcutta played for 13 years. Today, it’s a popular venue for special events, boasting art deco décor and elegant architectural detail.

Fresh Wata brought it its own custom furniture for the occasion, and the oversized pieces were doubled up to reinforce the theme. Graffiti was scattered throughout the venue on pillows, chairs and windows, tying the messages together. Display stations that allowed the media to interact with the new device were also spread throughout the room. Elaborate picture frames encased plasma screens that also carried branding messages. Playing off the Echo name, Fresh Water used mirrors throughout the décor, on buffets, product displays and table tops.

Illusionist David Blaine and celebrity DJ Casey Conner were brought in to provide the entertainment.

Following through on the mirror theme, decorated video stations were placed throughout the room to communicate more branding.
