Corporate Glam in Laguna Niguel

When Lili and Pawntra Shadab of Elite Productions International in Laguna Niguel, CA were asked to pull off a multi-day event for one of their long-standing corporate clients, they knew that they’d need to reach into their bag of tricks to create a series of events that were fresh, fun and different than all the others they had produced for the client over the years.
The client, a capital investment firm, planned to bring in more than 2,000 of their investors from around the world for the event, which would include education sessions, receptions and social functions. The venue was one that the client had used in the past—the Ritz Carlton Laguna Niguel.
The Elite Productions team decided on an indoor/outdoor venue for the social events, which took place in the evenings.
“Our special challenge was turning a public parking lot next to the hotel into a glamorous environment, which we could freshen with different looks for the various events,” says Lili Shadab. “This meant that we had to get a pile of permits from the county, bring in our own power and water and work around existing elements such as parking meters, lighting, trees and more.”
They decided on a clear tent that would provide an open, spacious feeling. Areas of the tent walls were left open to enhance this feeling, making the entire 25,000-square-foot space feel unified. All existing trees that fell inside and outside the tent were bedecked with string lighting.
For one of the receptions the space was transformed into a sexy club lounge with a glam black and gold color palette inspired by 2012 fashion runways. With rapper Flo Rida as the talent, the setting took on a decidedly contemporary feel. Gold leather furniture with black patent leather and suede lounge seating provided a rich backdrop for dancers on a runway behind the bars. Large Payette backdrops and custom-made costumes with feathers, beads and gold chain added to the overall luxury feel of the event. Flowers in shades of ivory and white completed the sophisticated elegance of the evening.
