Chefs Vie to Tempt Attendees’ Palates in Chef’s Challenge

Attendees streaming into the Conrad Room in the Hilton Las Vegas after the Opening Session were greeted with an array of tempting morsels. Nine three-person teams of chefs competed in the 2008 Kitchen Contenders Chef’s Challenge, each making their own unique hors d’oeuvres out of ingredients that had been pre-selected.
During the Opening Session, the Ace of NACE Culinary Team was announced as the winner of the Judges’ Award. Voting for the People’s Choice Award took place during the tasting event after the general session, and when all the votes were counted, the IMCEA Culinary Commandos, a military group, had come out on top.
