The Event Leadership Institute has announced the release of a new eBook focusing on ways that non-profit organizations can improve the effectiveness of their fundraising events. Cause Connection: Making Your Fundraising Event More Impactful by Connecting Your Audience to Your Mission profiles 11 organizations that have used creative methods to tell their stories to their event attendees in a way that is meaningful and viral.

The aim of these initiatives is to deeply engage attendees so they become passionate supporters of the organizations.

“Too often major fundraising events are focused primarily on raising money for that specific event,” said ELI executive director Howard Givner. “And while that’s obviously a key goal, the organizations frequently miss the opportunity to connect with attendees in a way that converts them to evangelists for their cause.”

Givner pointed out that at many fundraisers only a small portion of the guests are emotionally connected to the nonprofit’s mission. The others are there to support honorees, fill out corporate tables, etc. and it is these attendees the host organization needs to focus on reaching. Cause Connection shares examples of how to do this in meaningful ways.

The organizations profiled include: charity water, Yorkville Common Pantry, UNICEF, Operation Western Front, Global Citizen, Prep for Prep, Be Bold Be Bald, Canadian Foundation for AIDS Research, Hudson Link, Global Green and the National Wildlife Federation.

Cause Connection is available for free at ELI’s website, www.EventLeadershipInstitute.com, thanks to a sponsorship by EventSpot from Constant Contact.
